The history of The Pheasant Inn dates back over 500 years. Originally a farm house, it was converted in 1778 to a popular Alehouse. One of its 19th century regulars was the famous huntsman John Peel.
With real log fires in the lounges, exposed beams, period furniture and polished parquet flooring the lounges and the bar at The Pheasant is the epitome of a true Lakeland hostelry.
The Pheasant is well known for its high standard of food ranging from local Cumbrian specialities to fine dining, and even afternoon tea.
