Description:

Castlerigg Farm Cottage is part of a Georgian farm house on a working farm near Armathwaite in the unspoilt Eden Valley. On a clear day you can see panoramic views of Blencathera, Carlisle, The Lake District and The Pennines.

On the ground floor of Castlerigg Farm Cottage is a kitchen with dining area, and seperate spacious lounge which overlooks the garden.

The wooden staircase leads to the first floor and the bathroom with bath, basin and w/c and the two bedrooms.

The master bedroom has views of the garden and fells beyond.

An ideal base for a family holiday or just to unwind. Outside the cottage is a large lawned garden with garden furniture, barbecue, and swings and slide for the children. There is also a games room with table football, darts board and snooker table, and a small farm shop selling eggs, local meat and local produce. The farm owners are happy to give you a tour of the farm where you can feed the hens and collect freshly laid eggs, and see the cows being milked. Castlerigg farm is one of only two dairy farms in Cumbria which has robotic milking.

There is plenty to do nearby - walks, cycling, fishing on the river Eden and golfing. Nearby attractions include an open air swimming pool at Lazonby, Hutton in The Forest, Croglin Toys, Maize Maze, Eden Ostrich World, Walby Farm Park, Reghed and Carlisle Castle. The border city of Carlisle is 10 miles, Penrith 7 miles and Ullswater lake 15 miles. Keswick and Gretna are about 30 minutes drive.
